About Neo
Neophytos or “Neo” has always been singing, dancing, and performing but didn’t think he’d get anywhere with it until he got accepted into Frank Sinatra School of the Arts. From there, Neo realized that this is the career he wanted and began honing his craft. Over the years, Neo was able to perform at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Lincoln Center, alongside the NY Virtuoso Singers and Kelli O’ Hara, and even performed for Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett.
Entering college, Neo faced a few crossroads but decided to study classical music at the Aaron Copland School of Music to further develop his artistry and romance languages & literatures. Still fueling his passion in theatre, Neo continued his acting training at the T. Schreiber Studio and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and performed in musical theatre revues and cabaret shows all over New York City. Some musical roles Neo has performed include Starkeeper from Carousel, Mr. Mushnik from Little Shop of Horrors, and Willard Hewitt from Footloose.
During his Masters of Music and Post-Master’s, Neo began discovering arts administration and created the first-ever Multicultural Recital at Queens College— a premiering event promoting the joy & beauty of all cultures worldwide through the arts—as well as oversaw the sound production for all performances of Reinas de la Noche, Divas de España, & La Gota Fría with the Thalia Hispanic Theatre. Neo also was an inaugural member of the Achieving Diversity: Arts Administration Leadership Project; an initiative establishing elite career support for minority & ethnically underrepresented students who aspire to leadership in the arts. Neo has also collaborated with the Kupferberg Center for the Arts and the Musical Theatre Organization as both a choreographer and principal soloist.
As a multifaceted voice teacher and audition coach, Neo helps young professionals and emerging artists unlock their true artistic potential by cultivating all the necessary aspects of being a performer so that they can make a variety of artistic choices and take their craft to the next level. Along with his extensive classical and theatre training, Neo has received the Certificate of Distinction in Vocal Pedagogy from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and has completed Levels I, II, and III of Somatic Voicework™ to branch out into Contemporary Commercial Music. Neo specializes in Musical Theatre, Audition/Role Prep. and Foreign Language Lyric Diction. His students have been accepted into NYC Performing Arts high schools & universities for music performance, music production, and musical theatre. His teaching philosophy is to guide every student to discover their inner artist through a beautiful and healthy instrument used for authentic artistic expression.
