About Neo
Neophytos “Neo” Ioannou is a higher-education and arts leader who unites creativity and strategy to advance student success, equity, and opportunity. With nearly a decade of experience spanning academia and the performing arts, he enhances institutional growth through strategic planning, fundraising, and program innovation.
At Queens College, he has led communications and grant development across the School of Arts and the Kupferberg Center for the Arts, guiding initiatives that expand access, engagement, and community partnerships. He holds an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Leadership in Higher Education—a doctoral-level degree with expertise in strategic planning, institutional advancement, and educational leadership—focused on career readiness and workforce development in the arts. He has also served as a grant panelist for the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and the NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship.
A classically trained vocalist and musical theatre artist, Neo studied at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College and continued acting training at the T. Schreiber and Stella Adler studios. His career includes performances at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Consulate General of Greece, as well as collaborations with Kelli O’Hara, Lady Gaga, and Tony Bennett.
As a voice teacher and audition coach, Neo empowers artists to develop healthy, expressive technique. He holds a Certificate of Distinction in Vocal Pedagogy from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, along with advanced training through the Westminster Conservatory Voice Pedagogy Institute and the CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute at Shenandoah University. He has also completed all levels of Somatic Voicework™ and Soul Ingredients® Methodology. His students have been accepted to top performing-arts high schools and universities. His teaching philosophy centers on cultivating each artist’s unique voice through a healthy, expressive instrument.
